After over a decade of providing trauma-informed care to children and families, I’ve seen firsthand how gaps in our systems create barriers to comprehensive support. I also understand how those of us providing trauma-informed care absorb these gaps, often at a personal cost. My passion is to bridge these gaps, ensuring that we, as professionals, can continue our mission of helping survivors in a way that truly honors their experiences.

Trauma affects our entire person, shaping the nervous system, emotional responses, thinking patterns and daily behaviors. While traditional trauma-informed care provides essential support, it often leaves out the critical role of the body and nervous system in the recovery process. A comprehensive approach to trauma-informed care recognizes that healing requires the integration of the mind and body. By incorporating nervous system regulation to support emotional awareness and well-being, individuals can move beyond the psychological impacts of their trauma and experience lasting changes. Sustained growth and recovery are not achieved through insight alone but through consistent habits and intentional lifestyle shifts that support emotional balance. Unraveling conditioned responses, reshaping narratives, and building healthier behaviors is an ongoing process that requires a structured and compassionate approach. When individuals learn to regulate their nervous system, attune to their emotions, and adopt supportive daily practices that support emotional regulation, they cultivate resilience, emotional stability, and a renewed sense of self. Comprehensive trauma-informed care is about empowering individuals to take control over their emotions and circumstances and step into a life of greater connection and self-trust. By expanding services to include the whole person, we create a more effective, compassionate, and sustainable path forward.

Professional Support

Working in a profession that manages the everyday impacts of another person’s trauma can be deeply distressing. Through my years of service, I understand how vicarious trauma
